BETA BETA BETA// B.O.G.A.R.T. is NOT yet fully functional. The pages are presented here for reference only.
The MISSION of B.O.G.A.R.T. is to bring together technicians and luthiers in a collaborative and friendly environment to share success and horror stories. The less experienced will learn from the salty dogs, while the salty dogs will reinforce their years of experience by exchanging ideas with peers, and imparting wisdom a willing and hungry younger group.
MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES COMING SOON!
B.O.G.A.R.T. is assessing the viability of becoming a multi-tiered membership group. Members will be screened and approved before being accepted.
-
Conceptually, while anybody with web access may view the contents of the B.O.G.A.R.T. website, only approved and screened members can place their projects, services, and products for sale on the site.
-
A PRIMARY BENEFIT for members (level-dependent) will be regional visibility of products and services offered. We have plans to create qualifications standards leading to a BOGART certification.
-
Once certified by BOGART, you become eligible to be entered onto our distribution lists that we will circulate to various retail outlets that consume our products and services.

Why THAT logo, though? There are two reasons I chose the pelican as the logo for BOGART: 1) Louisiana is my home state, and the pelican is the state bird. AFTER I chose that image to represent BOART, I discovered that the pelican is often depicted as giving its own blood to its young. There are many myths regarding why this occurs, but for our purposes it depicts the willingness of mentors to nourish their protégés with their life-blood. This keeps the craft alive, valid, and prosperous. A great analogy, I think, to the purpose of this site.
